Video killed the game-show star - Salon
As cheerful Chuck Woolery and loony Gary Busey leap into the celeb-reality fray, it becomes clear that stars' lives may be as boring as our own.
Yet thanks to the rampant popularity of "The Osbournes" -- and in spite of the intense stupidity of "The Anna Nicole Smith Show" -- a new wave of celebrities are rushing to contribute to their own demise by jumping onto the reality TV bandwagon.
Named after a 1968 song by Woolery's band Avant Garde, the show follows the scary-haired veteran host through his everyday life, from hosting his current show, "Lingo," to spending time at home with wife Terry, their two young sons and her two daughters from a previous marriage.

Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned | PopMatters Television Review
Woolery, an ex-singer/songwriter (the show's odd title comes from a 1968 rock ditty Woolery wrote and recorded), was the original host of Wheel of Fortune, then Love Connection, Scrabble, and Greed.
Without a built-in curiosity factor (say, the Prince of Darkness as doting husband and father), Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned is left with Woolery mugging for the camera or behind the scenes hijinks at Lingo.
Even that would be fine if Woolery was dynamic enough to make said situations comic, or some Seinfeld-ian celebration of the mundane.

So to recap: Chuck had three kids with his first wife, Margaret Hayes, one with JoAnn Pflug, two with Teri, and two stepdaughters from Teri.

By this late in the decade, anything billing itself as "Avant-Garde" was probably automatically suspect, but this brisk (barely 2:10) little number with its 007-ish background managed to park itself at the very bottom of the Top 40 for seven whole days.
What makes the song work, though, isn't the anxious undertow of the bass line, but the strong vocal by composer Chuck Woolery.
Yes, that Chuck Woolery: before the game shows and whatnot, the Chuckster was a working musician, and this was the Avant-Garde's second single ("Yellow Beads" had failed to chart).
