Baron Clifford of Chudleigh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The title Baron Clifford of Chudleigh, of Chudleigh in the County of Devon, was created in 1672 in the Peerage of England.
The title was created as "Clifford of Chudleigh" rather than simply "Clifford" to differentiate it from several other Clifford Baronies, including the Barony of de Clifford, which is still extant.

 BBC - h2g2 - Chudleigh, Devon, UK
Chudleigh is a small Devonian town in the UK that is situated about ten miles west of Exeter in the south west of England.
Chudleigh is close enough to both Exeter and Plymouth for those who'd like to sample the delights of the theatre or ainema, art galleries or live music events, yet it is remote enough to feel as if the place were miles from anywhere.
Chudleigh then (and now) was laid out in a fashion somewhat akin to a capital letter 'Y'; where the stem joins the 'V' was a small lane off to the right, called Mill Lane.

 Mb90p - Edward Reginald Chudleigh
Edward Reginald Chudleigh (1841-1922) arrived in New Zealand in 1862 and immediately began a diary which he kept until just before his death in 1922.
There Chudleigh, with his wife, Mabel, farmed the station Wharekauri until 1907 when they left on a two year tour of the world.
On their return, they found the Chatham Islands station to be bankrupt and moved to their property in the Waikato which was developed and eventually sold as small dairy farms.

Chudleigh’s brings the family farm into the retail freezer case with a line of unique, single-serve bakery products made with freshly peeled apples.
The Chudleighs, however, nearly lost paradise and part of their burgeoning business as well when the pre-sliced cheesecake became the dessert of preference at one of their major customers, a large U.S. casual dining chain, about a decade ago.
Chudleigh’s original bakery on the family’s 100-acre farm was destroyed in 1990 after huge fire, caused by a goat chewing through an electrical wire, burnt down four barns.

CHUDLEIGH is a small market town on the main road from Exeter to Plymouth, to which it owed its rise in the 13th to 14th centuries.
Almost certainly its rise from a purely agricultural village to the rank of market-town and borough was due to the rise of Plymouth, 30 m.
The great limestone mass of Chudleigh Rock was a favourite place of resort for "outings" from Exeter and other towns in days when people were more contented with the simple pleasures of life.

A report by Professor John Chudleigh into the proposed Australian Equine and Livestock Centre in Tamworth has expressed major concerns about the project's viability and recommends that the Federal Government does not provide financial support for the Longyard project.
The report suggests the proponents of the Longyard project reconsider the scale of their project and consider a possible revamp of the existing showground, which could accommodate most of the aims of the equine proposal.
Professor Chudleigh acknowledged that while the final decision to proceed with the project was one for the Council and other industry and regional bodies to take, he highlighted the significant risk that the Centre would be unable to pay its way, or provide adequate return to investors.
