As a Christian college situated within a public, government subvented, secular university, Chung Chi has already learnt in her past years, to be accountable not only to the various sponsoring churches but also to the secular university authorities and to the government of Hong Kong.
Chung Chi College has already established a good tradition in cultivating the study of religion as a legitimate place in the academy and while upholding her Christian identity, she has kept herself open to the study of other religions.
Hong Kong Baptist University began as the Hong Kong Baptist College in 1956 and was upgraded to university status in 1995, whereas Lingnan University was begun as Lingnan College in 1967 and was renamed Lingnan University in 1999.

Chung Chi College was founded in October 1951 by the representatives of Protestant churches in Hong Kong to meet the need for a local institution of higher learning that would be both Chinese and Christian.
In 1963 the College was incorporated as one of the three colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The College aims to preserve traditional Chinese culture and to balance it with the Western learning so that students may understand their cultural heritage and at the same time be capable of coping with the challenges of the modern world.

Chung Chi-yung, founder and Vice President of Hong Kong Shue Yan College, has been devoting her life to education over the last few decades.
The first female judge in Chinese history, Dr. Chung obtained a Bachelor of Law from Wuhan University, China, in 1944 and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Paris, France, in 1953 before further concentrated study in Juvenile Delinquency in Institute of Criminology of Paris, France.
She had taught at the then Hong Kong United College, Hong Kong Chung Chi College and Hong Kong Baptist College for more than 20 years before she became Head of Sociology and Social Work and Dean of the Arts Faculty at the Baptist College.

 The very Special Concert of Chung Chi-yong, Chung Myung-hwa and KNUA
Chung Chi-Yong, the former music director of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra(1999~2001), is a conductor of medium standing who is representing Korea and professor of KNUA(the Korean National University of Arts) School of Music.

 The Peak - May 1962
On a gusty day in February 1961, a group gathered on a raw hillside at Chung Chi College to witness the setting of the foundation stone for the new chapel.
Chung Chi College feels a special kinship to them, since many of the faculty members and parents of students were formerly related to those schools in China.
There are also seals of the colleges now being assisted by the United Board of Christian Higher Education in Asia, which formerly helped to support the Christian colleges in China.

In 1961, the Wellesley-Yenching Committee decided to send Wellesley graduates to teach at Chung Chi College in Hong Kong, an institution developed by refugee faculty and based on the same traditions as those of Yenching and the other Western-type colleges in China.
The "new" Ginling College was established in 1987 on the initiative of alumnae from the original Ginling College, which had been restructured in 1952 as part of a national reorganization of academic institutions.
These alumnae wished to reinstate a college with the purpose of their alma mater: "To prepare women to serve China." The new Ginling College is a separate administrative entity located within the larger Nanjing Normal University, an institution of more than 5,000 students.

Mercy Henry (1947) was born in the Southern Indian town of Tirunelveli, and holds an M.A. in Economics (1969) from the Madras University and a Ph.D. from the Madurai University.
Some of the college’s goals include creating an adequate infrastructure to the Women’s Development and Research Center, vocational training for women and hostellers, developing health and social awareness programs, AIDS awareness programs, promoting missionary zeal among the students, and providing leadership training.
