The Community of Christ is one Mormon sect that rejects this doctrine and that of the Godhead in favor of Trinitarian theology.
In some Mormon sects, such as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are additional requirements for salvation and exaltation, including the ordinances of baptism, confirmation, the Endowment and Sealing (Marriage).
However, the LDS Church abandoned the practice in 1890, after intense political pressure from the United States government prompted the 1890 Manifesto.

Latter Day Saint - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Often, the term is used to refer specifically to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), which is the largest Latter Day Saint denomination.
Because the LDS Church is by far the largest and most well-known Latter Day Saint denomination, a number of denominations who consider themselves Latter Day Saints prefer more informal terms to refer to their members, in order to avoid confusion.
The size and prominence of the LDS Church, however, has led to the terms Mormon and Mormonism being generally understood as applying only to the LDS Church and its polygamous 20th century offshoots, who generally are happy to call themselves Mormons or Latter Day Saints.

In a press release from 2001, the LDS Church stated that the word "Mormon" as an adjective in such expressions as "Mormon pioneers", "Mormons" as a noun in reference to church members, and "Mormonism" as a doctrine, culture, and lifestyle were all acceptable.
The LDS Church argues "Mormon", "Mormon fundamentalist" and "Mormon dissident" in reference to organizations or groups outside of the LDS Church (especially those that practice plural marriage) is a misunderstanding of Mormon theology, in particular the principle of continuous revelation and Priesthood authority.
Sometimes "Restorationist" or "Restoration Movement" are used as umbrella terms, for those derived from the Campbellites or Stone-Campbell churches, for example, the Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ.
