		Churchill, Manitoba, is a town on the shore of (An inland sea in northern Canada) Hudson Bay in (One of the three prairie provinces in central Canada) Manitoba, (A nation in northern North America; the French were the first Europeans to settle in mainland Canada) Canada.
		The first permanent settlement was a log fort built at the mouth of the Churchill River in 1717 as a trading post for commerce with Inuit and Dene people, part of the extensive fur-trading network established by the Hudson's Bay Company.
		The fort was destroyed by (The Romance language spoken in France and in countries colonized by France) French warships in 1782, and a new fort was built a short ways upriver.

		The route between Winnipeg and Churchill was mentioned in a book on North American rail travel that I read roughly a decade ago and I was intrigued by being able to take a train somewhere that you couldn't drive to.
