Churchill College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Cambridge and was founded in 1960 as the national and Commonwealth memorial to Winston Churchill.
Churchill is situated on the outskirts of the town away from the traditional centre of old Cambridge, but close to the University's main new development zone.
The Mastership of Churchill College is a Crown appointment.

Pembroke College is a college of the University of Cambridge, home to over 600 students and fellows, and is the third oldest of the existing colleges.
Notably, the women's college at Brown University in the United States was named after Pembroke College (Cambridge), before it was assimilated into the university in 1971.
Highlights include "The Orchard" (a patch of semi-wild ground in the centre of the college), an impressive row of Plane Trees and an immaculately-kept bowling green which is reputed to be the oldest in continual use in Europe.

General access to the College is good as two main entrances have wheelchair access, pathways and corridors are wide and there is ramped access to all rooms which have steps.

The college commissioned postgraduate accommodation for 30 students on a former garden site between an arts and crafts house and a 1970s accommodation block.
In a conservation area, surrounded by sensitive and vocal neighbours the architects had a stiff challenge to design something which would be acceptable - as part of the context without resorting to a pastiche solution.
The garden design was central to the project and was developed in close collaboration with the College Gardener.

Along with Oxford, Cambridge is the best school in England, and is considered to be in the same league as Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and other Ivy Leaguers.
University College London is ranked No. 1 over Cambridge in economics (Times Good Guide Educational supplement) and I want to go to a prestige US business school for an MBA after an undergraduate degree in the UK.
Cambridge is the best school in Europe for Science, and is a beautiful town, although Churchill college is quite far out.

Churchill College Cambridge is the British national memorial to Winston Churchill.
The difficulties and worries of the people of Cambridge are my concern, whether they be Nobel Prizewinners or a distraught family with a housing problem.
I am almost tempted to relate to you the saga of the Cherry Hinton railway crossing or the saving of St. Bede's Roman Catholic School, or of the two young constituents who, wrongly convicted, I was able to bring out of prison to be returned to their families and their jobs.

The Fellowship is open to women and men, with no age limit, and may be awarded either to the holder of a Ph.D. or equivalent degree from any university, or to a person registered as a candidate for the Ph.D. degree in the University of Cambridge.
The Fellowship is tenable for a period of two years from 1 October 1999 and may be extended in exceptional circumstances for a further period of one year.

LADY Thatcher's handbag, seen by adversaries as a weapon worthy of a place in the Imperial War Museum, is to be preserved in sepulchral peace on a shelf in her personal archive in Cambridge.
