For example, in Western Australia there was the Leaving Certificate Examination and later the Tertiary Entrance Examination, and in New South Wales there was the Intermediate Certificate and Leaving Certificate Examinations and later the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate Examinations.
In Western Australia, the Tertiary Entrance Score is based on a 50:50 combination of external public examination results and teachers' assessment of student school work.

Originally a brass band, it was converted to a concert or military band in 1972 with the inclusion of woodwind instruments and increased in size to a strength of 34 musicians.
The Western Australia Police Pipe Band was formed in 1966 and as a mark of respect to the then Commissioner Mr R.T. NAPIER, chose the Napier Tartan which it still wears today.
It is the oldest pipe band in Western Australia and amongst the oldest civilian bands in the southern hemisphere.

He says Churchlands has decided to remove poor performers in its efforts to move the school up the table.
