 CIARAN HINDS
Hinds looks what he is, a Citizens actor in short pigtail and gleaming slicked hair, a handsome cross between a Sicilian bandit and a Byzantine Christ, the axe-face pierced with fanatic, fundamentalist eyes.
Ciaran Hinds comes into his own as the barely tolerated son-in-law of the boss, working out his private hell of memory (his father was killed in the IRA bomb blast that destroyed the family business).
Ciaran Hinds gives a performance which is admirably restrained and telling as a man anguished, embittered and in obvious pain, but never stuck for a striking phrase to ward off a blow, or cut an adversary down to size - and this Webster is a man who counts enemies among his friends.

Ciaranitis - for those smitten with Ciarán Hinds
Ciarán Hinds was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 9 February 1953 - although some of us like to think that he was not actually born to human parents, but was sent down from above to give intelligent women an excuse to sit in front of the TV for hours and drool.
As some of you have probably already found out, Mr Hinds has proved to be a very private man, or at least someone who hasn't been interviewed a lot.
Neither Ciarán Hinds nor his agent has in any way endorsed this.

Unfortunately, Schumacher (who makes room for an unbilled Colin Farrell cameo) and a naggingly unsophisticated screenplay turn Guerin's complex story into a conventionally accessible thriller that sometimes seems too good to be true, which is ironic given that Guerin's story was fictionalized in the marginally better 2000 film When the Sky Falls, starring Joan Allen.
The cast supporting her includes such fine talents as Brenda Fricker, Ciaran Hinds, Gerard McSorley and even Colin Farrell in a tiny cameo role.
Brenda Fricker is Veronica's likeable and concerned mother, and the other standout performances are by Ciaran Hinds and Gerard McSorley as Guerin's two main nemeses.
