I don't know how similar that is to what you call "apple cider" in the US, but "apple cider" sounds like cloudy apple juice to me. I know from an LJ discussion that in the US "apple cider" is a non-alcoholic drink, but here anything labelled as "cider" will be alcoholic.
If you live near an Aldi, their cloudy apple juice (in the 750ml pourable cartons) is the closest thing I've ever found in England to apple cider.
