Cimexomys is an extinct, North American mammal that lived during the Upper Cretaceous - Paleocene.
For those of a technical disposition, it's within the Suborder of Cimolodonta, and perhaps a member of the Paracimexomys group, though that's not certain.
Based on the new material from Montana, the authors "argued that Cimexomys is too primitive to be included among either the Taeniolabidoidea or Ptilodontoidea.

So it is fair to say that Bug Creek is dominated by Lancian species, and it's conceivable that a few of these species are misidentified or actually did originate in the Cretaceous, or that Fox is right that Long Fall is Cretaceous, in which case several of the above species are as well.

This molar morphology, exemplified by Cimexomys and Stygimys, is common in correlative localities at higher latitudes.

We here describe a near-complete dentition, partial rostrum, and associated lumbar vertebrae of the multituberculate mammal Cimexomys judithae, discovered on a dinosaur nest horizon at Egg Mountain, in Montana's Campanian Two Medicine Formation.
A phylogenetic analysis including this specimen indicates that Cimexomys is diagnosed on the basis of primitive and widely distributed character states, is probably not monophyletic, and that C.
Species of Cimexomys are too primitive to be included in the suborders Taeniolabidoidea or Ptilodontoidea, and are thus useful as outgroups in future analyses, but they must be scored separately to insure monophyly.
