The fact is that the Cyclones - who make their home debut tonight at Firstar Center - have returned to their roots, which are in the ECHL, except that this time they're undertaking bush-league hockey in a building that aspires to be better than that.
In a more poetic world, the Cyclones would be playing at the funkier Cincinnati Gardens and the Mighty Ducks of the higher-ranking American Hockey League would be slapping shots in the place with a parking garage; but then again, this is America's most peculiar hockey town.
