At the Jan. 20 Borough Council meeting, Mayor John Merla said Circle Line, a New York-based boat cruise company that has been in operation for 70 years, has just expanded to ferry service and approached the council about a month ago for a possible commuter ferry service to New York City.
The company also has a brand new, $7 million boat that it would use for the service, and the harbor wouldn’t need to be dredged because it draws very little water, Merla said.
