Backup power circuit - Patent 4316097
A backup circuit according to claim 3, wherein the predetermined value of the ramp signal is generally at the midportion of its slope and is equal to the reference signal input of the comparator.
The present invention resides in the provision of such conventional circuit with temperature compensation means in the preferred form of four anode-to-cathode, series-connected, temperature-sensitive, semiconductor diodes 140a, 140b, 140c, and 140d, which, in combination with a calibrating potentiometer 143, varies the charging current curve of the battery charger circuit as a function of battery temperature.
Such circuit characteristics are effected by the variance in the control voltage between pins 5 and 6 of chip 135, caused in turn by variance of the inherent voltage across the diodes 140a, 140b, 140c, and 140d in response to changing temperatures.

This circuit restores the DC level of low-level (<2 mV) NRZ data from superconducting quantum interference devices after the signals are processed by an AC amplifier.
The circuit breaks the feedback loop and stores the loop voltage in a sample-and-hold circuit while the bias voltage is ramped and the current is measured.
The outputs of two photodiodes in the beam path are monitored by the circuit and used to generate a feedback error signal.

Circuit restoration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In telecommunication, circuit restoration is the process by which a communications circuit is established between two users after disruption or loss of the original circuit.
Circuit restoration is usually performed in accordance with planned procedures and priorities.
Restoration may be effected automatically, such as by switching to a hot standby, or manually, such as by manual patching.

For circuit based networks, the ability to have an independent network for control message transportation is a fundamental requirement because a typical transport NE may not have the capability to terminate data traffic through the bearer channels.
Restoration is often provided by either pre- computing or finding alternate routes for connections in real-time.
In order to guarantee that restoration capacity is available on a chosen route, one needs information on the free capacity on that route, demands whose alternate routes share that route or some links on it and their failure sets.

The metric used was restoration ratio, defined as the ratio of the number of links/circuits rerouted successfully to the number of links/circuits considered for rerouting.
In this project, all the links and circuits are distributed randomly, so in node’s point of view, the number of the link it has is uncertain, to scope this problem, link list is introduced into this project.
The restoration ratio increases as the number of nodes in network increases, since the average load decreases with same number of calls.
