  Circumcision and Footbinding
Circumcision may have begun as a propitiatory sacrifice of part of the penis to protect the rest, or as sympathetic magic to promote fertility by making the penis resemble one in a state of arousal, but its impact extended far beyond these boundaries.
Tribal circumcision frequently is done at the brink of puberty; the boy's acceptance of the pain marking his transition to manhood.
Circumcision ended in New Zealand in less than a generation, but largely by fiat from above: it was not allowed at public expense in the biggest women's hospital, then the government refused to pay for it within the universal maternity benefit.

 STYLE AND RESULTS
It is always possible to have a loose circumcision tightened, but you must be absolutely sure that you know just how tight you want it, and where the scar line is to be placed, and then that your surgeon will (within discussed medical limits) do exactly as you ask.
Any freehand type of circumcision can be made tight or loose and the scar placed low or high on the shaft, provided the operator is skilled enough to recognize how much of which skin (innerlining or outer shaft/foreskin) he will be removing.
If the circumcision is done tightly enough to ensure there is no hint of foreskin left to cover the coronal rim when flaccid, it may remove too much skin to allow any looseness when fully erect.

Sexual fetishism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fetishism was introduced as a psychological scientific term in 1887 by Alfred Binet and meant sexual admiration of an inanimate object.
"Fetishism" in its sexual meaning must not be confused with the original anthropological concept of fetishism or socio-philosophical concepts derived from this one, e.
Sometimes, whole cultures can develop the fetish to such an extent that it is no longer perceived as a fetish, but merely as a normal sexual desire; for example the commonplace "fetishes" for lingerie and women lacking body hair.

The problem I have with circumcision is not the act itself but the fact that we have kind of had it shoved down our throats, and if you think that circumcision is all sunshine and rainbows, you really should open your mind and think about it.
What makes circumcision acceptable is that our medical industry has convinced us that foreskins are a useless little flap of skin, that they are dirty and that they are disease-prone.
It is not a fetish for me because I do not want to have sex with a man and his restored penis.

On the trail of a taboo
ACCORDING to the chatter at European dinner parties, female circumcision is a sub-Saharan African phenomenon; something done by shammanistic witch doctors in darkened jungle huts while the women wave the fetish and the drummers drown the screams.
Female circumcision is recognised by all writers on the subject to be widespread in Oman and South Yemen.
I suggest that this conservatism in matters of female circumcision is genuinely Islamic, stemming from the dictum of the Prophet which is mentioned above, and is not merely a function of the temperaments which happen to be possessed by those nations which happen to be Islamic.

Male Non-Therapeutic Circumcision: The Legal and Ethical Issues.
Circumcision sprang from sacrificial impulses, from the desire to control individuals and to mark them with tribal identifiers, to initiate the youths into the tribe, and, through the infliction of an excruciatingly painful procedure, gain proof of the youths' fortitude and courage.
Circumcision certainly provides an opportunity not only to handle boys' penises without the condemnation that a sexual assault (in the sense that phrase is normally used) would attract, but also the opportunity to exercise power over another human being, to alter the penis and to control it and the boy's future sexual life.
Central to the consideration of non-therapeutic circumcision are the issues of consent and the validity of the proxy assent given by a parent for the non-therapeutic circumcision of a child.

He interviewed Milos and to her claim that her 3 circumcised sons had lost the most sensitive part of their anatomy he retorted "most men will tell you that if their genitalia were any more sensitive, it would cry during Meryl Streep movies.
Claimed benefits of 'increased sensitivity' in reality appear to be a result of the friction of the foreskin, whether intact or newly created, on the moist or sweaty glans and undersurface of the prepuce in the unaroused state and would obviously in the 're-uncircumcised' penis have nothing to do with an increase in touch receptors.

What the Bible Reveals About Circumcision and Sexual Violence
Circumcision never applied to Christians (Acts 15:5-11), and anyone who doubts this should read Acts 15 and the letter of Paul to the Galatians carefully, noting how and why these passages say that circumcision is not needed.
This unsavoury episode, with its deceit and betrayal, its mass circumcision and the massacre that followed, shows that the circumcisions were a preparation for and a foretaste of the violence that followed.
Forcible circumcision is especially likely to occur if an uncircumcised boy visits his ancestral homeland, but there have been instances of it in New Zealand.

Yes, since circumcision “is not essential to the child’s well being,” it can legitimately be delayed until the child can evaluate the “proof of validity” when he is of an age to do so.
Circumcision both violates a child's right to have all the normal, healthy, functional body parts he was born with and the procedure is harmful.
