Rockrose - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The rockrose is the name for the genus Cistus of the flowering plant family Cistaceae.
These are perennial shrubs found on dry or rocky soils around the Mediterranean, from the Canary Islands through to the Middle East.
As with many other Cistaceae, the species of Cistus have the ability to form mycorrhizal associations with truffles (Tuber) and are thus to thrive on poor sandy soils or rocks.

This gives me great sadness but I have felt it necessary, partly because family commitments have made it increasingly difficult to curate the collection to the standard I would like, but also because recent events have revealed a change in the attitude of NCCPG headquarters toward National Collection holders which I find unacceptable.
The first National Collection of Cistus was established by Duncan Donald at Chelsea Physic Garden in London and developed by Fiona Crumley.
I have contacts with fellow Cistus and Halimium enthusiasts in several countries, especially France, and welcome new contacts with fellow enthusiasts.
