 History of New Building Project
WWOZ has stayed with this project long beyond the point of self-interest because we believe that it is the right thing to do, not just for WWOZ, but also for the City of New Orleans, the National Jazz Park and the Treme neighborhood.
We continue to hold out hope that a vibrant National Jazz Park and a revitalized Louis Armstrong Park will come to pass and that New Orleans can enjoy the benefits resulting from our Public/Private Partnership.
Attendees included NPS staff from New Orleans, Atlanta and Colorado, Jazz Commission members, City officials, WWOZ staff, Treme and other community residents, members of the Tulane School of Architecture, and AIA volunteers.

 Train Garden
As a nod of welcome to the Canal Streetcar, which re-opened in the spring of 2004, New Orleans City Park launched its newest exhibition, the New Orleans Historic Train Garden.
The exhibit is included with regular admission to the New Orleans Botanical Garden in City Park.
Visitors planning a trip to City Park are encouraged to take the new Canal Streetcar (City Park line) to the park (the fare is $1.25 each way, per person).

ALBANY - Organizers with Buffalo's newest charter school say the state's funding formula should change so that money for the alternative schools does not come from the city school system.
In what shapes up as a test case for the future of charter schools in Buffalo, the state Board of Regents on Thursday is expected to decide whether to grant a new charter to a school in Elmwood Village.
Effective immediately, final grades for city students will be determined instead by course work during the year, along with alternative means such as portfolios of their work, research papers or oral presentations.
