		The city was founded on May 1, 2001 and was designated on April 1, 2003 by government ordinance.
		Fukuoka (ç¦å²¡å¸‚;; -shi) is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture and is situated on the northern shore of the island of Kyushu in Japan, across the Korea Strait from South Koreas Busan.
