City Hall in London is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority and the Mayor of London.
City Hall is not in the City of London, whose headquarters is in the Guildhall north of the Thames.
Although County Hall's old council chamber is still intact, it is unavailable for use by the GLA due to the building's conversion into, amongst other things, a luxury hotel, amusement arcade and aquarium.

 Under City Hall Park
During renovation of New York's City Hall Park in 1999, colonial burials were found just northeast of City Hall (1) and in the northwest corner of the park (2).
Maps of the city from the 1700s do not make the boundaries explicitly clear, but it is widely agreed that the northern margin of the cemetery was at Duane Street, only two blocks from where the bones were found at City Hall Park.
The city will also dedicate a plaque at the site; it will serve as a collective tombstone for the poor of the city's first almshouse, if that is who the bones belong to, informing the public about souls no longer forgotten.

Under construction for more than a decade and costing more than $2.5 million, Toronto's third City Hall was officially opened on September 18, 1899, by the mayor of the day, John Shaw.
The hall, originally used for public events, is lined top and bottom with scagliola (faux marble) columns with plaster capitals.
One tells the story of the "Friends of Old City Hall." Following the opening of New City Hall (1965) and the planning of the Eaton Centre, Old City Hall was threatened with demolition.

 Abandoned Stations : City Hall (IRT)
City Hall was the ceremonial terminal of the first subway project in New York, the place where the mayor could show off the subway built with the people's money to benefit the greatest city in the country.
City Hall station consists of just one short platform on the loop taken by the local track just south of Brooklyn Bridge station.
The official IRT map appeared to show City Hall at the end of a stub branch line, but because the station circle touches the main line, it may be that the designer was trying to show a loop.

City Hall was built by the John W. Cowper Company, which was the same firm that earlier had built the Statler hotel and The Buffalo Athletic Club.

 City Hall Roof Restoration Project
The condition of City Hall's roof has been evident for the last few years to the many employees and visitors who have noticed the severe water damage occurring throughout the public rooms and offices.
The sculpture of Justice on top of the cupola on City Hall is the third such sculpture to stand atop this building and will be restored as part of the City Hall Roof Restoration project.
In order to remove the sculpture from City Hall, the arms of the art work will be detached and additional internal support will be installed.
