  New York State Assembly - Consolidated Laws - General City
The provisions of the election law or any other law relating to the submission of questions at general elections, so far as the same are applicable and not inconsistent with this chapter, shall apply to the conduct of all elections at which questions are submitted to all the voters of a city.
Such local law shall become operative only after it shall be adopted after submission to the qualified voters of the city, and due adoption thereof by a majority of the qualified voters of the city voting thereon at a general election or special election called and held for that purpose.
For the purposes of this section the uniformed force of a city department of sanitation or similar department or agency shall be deemed to consist of sanitationman, assistant foreman, foreman, district superintendent, senior superintendent, supervising superintendent, principal superintendent, city superintendent, director of operations and general superintendent.

Each city, except a city of the first class having a population of one million or more inhabitants, is hereby authorized and empowered to create and establish by ordinance of the common council or similar legislative body and to maintain a purchasing department or agency.
All provisions of law applicable to such conservation easements pursuant to such title shall apply with respect to conservation easements hereunder, except that the city may adopt standards pertaining to the duration of such easements that are more stringent than such standards promulgated by the department of environmental conservation pursuant to such title.
Local laws or ordinances shall be amended, as appropriate, to reflect the provisions contained in intermunicipal agreements established pursuant to the provisions of this section.

It is seen as an action taken by some for a way in which city council's delegate the supervision of the day to day operations of the city to someone other than the elected mayor.
In most of the smaller cities in Idaho, the clerk's and treasurer's position are combined and the clerk/treasurer and the city attorney are the only two employees of those cities.
Idaho law also authorizes a mayor and council to appoint "such boards, commissions and committees as may be deemed necessary or expedient to assist the mayor and council in better carrying out the responsibilities of their offices." All appointments are made by the mayor with the consent of the council.

The Washington State Court of Appeals found that parts of the City’s poster ban were unconstitutional, but allowed the City to regulate the time, place and manner of poster placement.
The City of Seattle adopted legislation in 1994 that, among other things, prohibited anyone from affixing any handbill, sign, or poster to any utility poles, lamp poles, and traffic control devices.
The City has a responsibility to help minimize potential for injury to pedestrians and bicyclists caused by them running into signs made of inflexible materials placed low on poles and hung with sharp fasteners.

I'd like to have just a couple of three acres for a horse or two and was wondering if anyone knows the zoning laws for horses in WA and does it vary by county ect.
I currently live in GA and we have so many laws and it vairies by county and it's more who you know vs what is right.
I had looked at New Mexico and love their equine laws but I have some real concerns about the out breaks of bubonic plauge and Hantavirus.
