But life has changed in the City of Evil, a subtle undercurrent having bled into the waters of society and changing the hue of the rivers by which they drew their sustenance.
The unofficial Lord of the city, Matt Shadows, had disappeared one night, along with his righthand man Brandan when he'd gone to investigate the claim to power by a lower Harlot known as Zeke.
After all, this was the City of Evil, and with creatures as powerful as the Harlots, anything was possible.

City Of Evil is their strongest album to date, as they push their over-the-top persona to the absolute max.
Their earlier work might fall a little more in the post-hardcore genre, but City Of Evil is darkly rooted in heavy metal.

"City Of Evil" may be a little mature for their current fanbase to handle, but regardless, it's the next logical step for this band who never cease to progress.
There were no screams, but you won't find those anywhere on "City Of Evil" as singer M. Shadows burst some blood vessels in his throat.
We knew they were competent with a few solos on "Waking The Fallen", but pretty much every song on "City Of Evil" has at least one solo in the blazing category.

That was the appropriate setting of a recent NCsoft event showcasing Cryptic Studios' City of Villains, the upcoming sister game to last year's well-received City of Heroes.
That game, an MMO casting the player as a superhero out to cleanse Paragon City of evil, is probably best known for its incredibly deep and open-ended character creation system, which offers a startling breadth of body styles, costumes, colors, powers, gameplay styles, and so on.
City of Heroes players who spend more time in the character creation utility than in the actual game should find plenty more to occupy their time with this game.

Both fans and critics agree that "City Of Evil" manages to embrace both a punk and rock genre while reaching out into the hardest and most musical places a listener can go.
With these accolades, it's no secret where the band is headed musically: straight to the top of a long list of artists who dared to expand their musical horizons outside of the movement that originally embraced them.
And, with the release of "City Of Evil" now official, the band is doing just that -- as headliners on the Vans Warped Tour which kicked off this Saturday in Columbus, OH.

But for City of Evil, A7X are clearly showing their inspirations on their sleeves, particularly that of Iron Maiden, right down to the biblical imagery on the cover.
M Shadows displays a voice range that could rival Bruce Dickinson although it sounds much more gravelly; the duelling guitars of Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance (yes the names are quite OTT) are some of the tightest playing since Metallica and The Reverand has got to be one of the best drummers out there today.
City of Evil mixes biblical references, thrash metal soloes, punk style riffs, growling vocals and fast paced rhythm to great affect.
