Bellingham, Washington - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The city and port have entered into a partnership to jointly clean up and redevelop the property, which has been named New Whatcom after the township of which the area was originally a part.
Some concern has been expressed by residents over the loss of viable industrial land in the city, however residential and commercial use of the area is seen to prevent further urban sprawl on undeveloped land at the edges of the city.
In the city the population was spread out with 17.7% under the age of 18, 23.8% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 years of age or older.

The city of Worms itself was within the grasp of a reign of lawlessness, debauchery, and murder.
From the bristling Ebernburg, Sickingen's lair, only six miles fromm the city, Hutten was hurling his truculent philippics, threatening with outrage and death the legate (whom he had failed to waylay), the spiritual princes and church dignitaries, not sparing even the emperor, whose pension as a bribe to silence had hardly been received.
Left to the seclusion of his own thoughts and reflections, undisturbed by the excitement of political and polemical agitation, he became the victim of an interior struggle that made him writhe in the throes of racking anxiety, distressing doubts and agonizing reproaches of conscience.

A subdued hearing on Fleet acquisition - The Boston Globe
With Boston set to lose its largest hometown bank in one of the biggest mergers in the industry's history, it was a North Carolina group that formed one of the last lines of defense yesterday.
"Our excitement at the prospect of being a part of one of the most respected corporations in the US is palpable throughout Fleet," said Chad Gifford, Fleet's chief executive.
Yesterday's subdued hearing contrasted with a similar event five years ago, when Fleet proposed a merger with BankBoston Corp. With protesters crowding into the downtown auditorium at the time, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino blasted the two banks, saying the merger would take the focus away from Massachusetts.

And this lust not only takes possession of the whole body and outward members, but also makes itself felt within, and moves the whole man with a passion in which mental emotion is mingled with bodily appetite, so that the pleasure which results is the greatest of all bodily pleasures.

It is obvious, therefore, that the Romans could not receive, nor reasonably expect to receive, laws for the regulation of their conduct from their gods, since the laws they themselves enacted far surpassed and put to shame the morality of the gods.
Now, the departure of the gods "from each fane, each sacred shrine," and their abandonment of the city to destruction, was an act of justice, if their laws inculcating justice and a moral life had been held in contempt by that city.
