Civic Forum (Czech: Občanské fórum - OF) was a political party in the Czech part of Czechoslovakia set up after the Velvet Revolution in 1989.
Civic Forum had very loose structure and most of its (self-appointed) leaders came from Prague members of Charter 77.
At the Civic Forum congress in January 1991 Klaus's supporters stated that they would form an independent party with a clearer program, advocating a free market, called Občanská Demokratická Strana (Civic Democratic Party).

Civic Forum is no longer a broad, democratic umbrella for the diverse citizens' initiatives which sprang up to overthrow the Stalinist regime in November 1989: all that remains are a name and a reputation.
The transformation of Civic Forum into an embryonic version of the two-party politics of the West began not long after the elections last July, when finance minister Vaclav Klaus' declared preference for neo-liberal economic theory and an aggressive privatisation policy came up against criticism from politicians with more social democratic instincts.
The initial membership of the Civic Democratic Party is expected to be drawn from Klaus' parliamentary supporters and the lower levels of the Civic Forum apparatus, especially in the smaller towns.

The Civic Forum was launched in May 2002 and represents one of the main routes for community input into Community Planning. 
The Civic Forum has four places on The Aberdeen City Alliance and three representatives on each of the Challenge Forums.  Civic Forum members representing the organisation on other bodies are asked to provide feedback on the meetings they attend, and a form is provided for the purpose.
An Information Pack on the Civic Forum has been created to provide an understanding of the organisation and how it works.  It provides an overview, as well as more detailed information in a series of Appendices.
