Klingon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shortly before the end of the Dominion War, in 2375, Gowron took direct control of the Klingon fleet (a position held up until that point by the successful General Martok) because he was concerned that Martok was becoming too popular among both the troops and the civilian population from his wartime success.
The early-1990s DC Comics graphic novel, Debt of Honor suggested that the human-like Klingons were discommoded (a concept introduced in TNG).
Conversely, Klingons despise the Tribbles as an "ecological menace".

America's Secret War - EBooks Store
This would mean a civil war in the country.
In America's Secret War, Friedman identifies the United States' most dangerous enemies, delves into presidential strategies of the last quarter century, and reveals the real reasons behind the attack of September 11 and the Bush administration's motivation for the war in Iraq.
The book attempts to explain, in as unbiased a manner as possible, the strategic reasoning behind both America's and the terrorist's actions, how the war had its origins in the end of the Cold War, and how the two sides' strategies are playing out.

The State of the Galactic Civil War
The word “N’Gai” is first mentioned in Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Characters and seems to be a contraction of the word “Nagai,” first mentioned in the Star Wars Marvel Comics series.
It’s possible that the truce the Nagai negotiated was in fact made with Merili, since it was the first place the Nagai were seen in Galactic Space after the Battle of Endor, and as he and Lumiya were thus forward allies, it follows that Lumiya’s superiors may have been the Prophets of the Dark Side.
Star Wars: Essential Guide to Characters states that the Alliance made a partial base on Arbra after the Battle of Endor.

 SAVANT:: Essential
He handles wide, panoramic shots of Wakanda; grim and gritty urban New York; the chaos of civil war; and the depths of Hell equally well, and he nails Priest's sight gags perfectly.
T'Challa is forced, by his own sense of duty and by media pressure, to abandon a growing civil war in Wakanda and come to America to find out who has corrupted his Fund and killed a young girl.
Marvel Comics' the Black Panther, Priest's fundamental point is that Black Panther is NOT a superhero.

Amazon.co.uk: Wind, Sand and Stars (Penguin Modern Classics): Books
Wind, Sand and Stars is intensely autobiographical as it tells us of this man's adventures from his beginnings as a pilot with the air mail service over France, Spain and North Africa before World War I, through to his musings as an observer of the Spanish Civil War.
After reading Wind, Sand and Stars one has a sense that this writer/philosopher, who is probably most well known for his fable The Little Prince, was well prepared for his life to end in this way.
But for those with patience and an interest (in a phrase from The Little Prince) in "listening with the heart", here is an insight to one man's struggle to understand and articulate the sacredness and greatness of human life.

 Collecting Newspapers
The familiar features of the modern newspaper are however lacking in Civil War newspapers.
Such staples of Twentieth Century daily journalism as bold front page headlines, illustrations and cartoons, sports and comics sections, and physical size of more than four or eight pages would come into being as results of technological developments still far in the future in the eighteen sixties.
From the First World War and on they are virtually identical in format to today's newspapers, and they offer the collector a wide range of possibilities.

 Uncle Sam by Steve Darnell and Alex Ross/The New Adventures of Abraham Lincoln by Scott McCloud - R A I N T A X I o n l i n e
Through the course of Uncle Sam, he wanders a modern American city, slipping into memories of other times and places--from the death of Black Hawk in 1832 Illinois to a Prisoner of War camp in Civil War Georgia to the Great Plains dust bowl of the 1930s.
American politics, that cynical funhouse hall of mirrors, finds twin reflections in two recent comics works: Steve Darnell and Alex Ross's Uncle Sam and Scott McCloud's The New Adventures of Abraham Lincoln.
In the end, he stands up to a doppelganger Uncle Sam, a slick, self-satisfied version of himself, and succeeds in reclaiming a sense of purpose as well as a sense of his past.

MILE HIGH COMICS presents THE BEAT at COMICON.com
In all the excitement, we forgot that yesterday was the biggest day in comics history as CIVIL WAR debuted, INFINITE CRISIS wrapped, and Neil Gaiman even leaked a few pages of THE ETERNALS by him, JRJR and Danny Miki.
But this is as good a place as any to say that this weekend's "Women of Comics" symposium in Toronto was one of the most exciting events for comics, not just women in comics, that we've attended in a long time.
I believe the Web already has what women wanting to make comics need, and that it has and continues to transform American comics from a work-for-hire Boy's Club to a stage for everyone to perform on and be seen.
