		The "Village" of Clamart, was given the name of "CLAMART LE VIGNOBLE" at the time of the french revolution (as decreed by the General Concil of Communes on the 24th of january in the second year of the new republic - 1791).
		At the end of the 18th century, Clamart possessed numerous vineyards and three wine presses in addition to thriving orchards and fields teeming with garden peas for which Clamart is well known.
		By 1902, grape growing in Clamart was in rapide decline - less than 100 acres of vines remained - due to the outbreak of the vine desease phylloxera in addition to stiff competition from wines from the south of France.
