Band clamp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A band clamp (also known as a web clamp) is a type of clamp which allows the clamping of items where the surfaces to be clamped are not parallel to each other; where there are multiple surfaces involved; or where clamping pressure is required from multiple directions at once.
Clamping the staves of a barrel - the barrel is encircled by the band.
Clamping pressure is applied either through a mechanical method such as a screw or ratchet mechanism which tightens the band, or through the elastic nature of the band material itself.

Clamp (tool) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A clamp is a fastening device to hold or secure objects tightly together to prevent movement or separation through the application of inward pressure.
In the United Kingdom and Australia, the term cramp is often used instead when the tool is for temporary use for positioning components during construction and woodworking; thus a G cramp or a sash cramp but a wheel clamp or a surgical clamp.
Anything which performs the action of clamping may be called a clamp, so this gives rise to a wide variety of terms across many fields.

However, the quick change tool head presents a problem when extreme precision levels are required.
The trade-off for caliber change speed is that the tool head to frame rail (and locator pin to locator pin hole) tolerances are loose enough that there is "play" side-to-side, fore-and-aft, and in the vertical axis.
It is my theory that this "play" may be partly/largely responsible for the variances in OAL/seating depth, bullet alignment, and some other consistency anomalies I have observed when trying to load test ammunition.
