		Clan of Xymox, also known as Xymox at various parts of their career, are a darkwave/gothic rock band founded in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, in 1983 by Ronny Moorings - who was to be the leader and only constant member of the group.
		Their debut album, self-titled under their newly adopted name Clan of Xymox, was released by 4AD in 1985, and drew comparisons to Joy Division and The Cure.
		The current lineup of Clan of Xymox is Ronny Moorings, Mojca Zugna, Denise Dijkstra (keyboards), Agnes Jasper (alternate keyboardist), and Mario Usai (guitar).

	Metropolis Records: Clan of Xymox
		In 1999, Clan of Xymox signed on with Metropolis Records, and delivered "Creatures" to a public that had been waiting for the true follow-up to 1985's "Clan of Xymox" album for 14 years.
		Metropolis's second studio album by the Clan of Xymox was 2001's "Notes from the Underground." It combined haunting yet atmospheric synth lines with dark rhythms, powerful beats and lively guitar strumming to yield a release based on agony and anguish caused by being disconnected from society.
		Clan of Xymox spent the two years following "Notes from the Underground" to work on their next record, "Farewell," which was released in 2003.

		Clan of Xymox's 1997 album, Hidden Faces, marked the abandonment of the pop-strocities committed during the band's stint as Xymox (the most atrocious of which was a travesty of an album known as Metamorphosis).
		With the release of the new album, Creatures, Clan of Xymox have managed to fully assimilate the old with the new and still add a few other surprises into the mix as well.
		In saying this, I am not going so far as to accuse Clan of Xymox of attempting to emulate The Sisters of Mercy (after all, I did say only a few classes), but I will point out that I find the album's opener, Jasmine and Rose, to be highly reminiscent of The Sisters' Black Planet.

		That's why there is already on Phoenix an indication of moving towards a sort of dance area, which was coming up in the UK in the early 90's.(Even the Cure got caught with their Mixed Up album) Metamorphosis and Headclouds are just a follow up on that general mood everyone was in.
		I started Xymox in Amsterdam with releasing Subsequent Pleasures on my own label.(1984)Of course I wanted to tour, so I asked my at the time girlfriend Anke to play the bass live and sing on one of my tracks of Subsequent.Pleasures.and my former roommate Pieter to play the keyboard.
