It is the lack of a railway station for 20 miles north of Bedford that compounds the congestion and parking problems and thus deters bus companies from running regular buses to serve the railway station.
The railway served the village for over 100 years and was well loved and well used, reopening the railway would attract a new generation to enjoy it for access to Bedford and beyond for work, leisure, shopping, school, college and further travel.
We believe that in the event of reopening the railway a halt could be provided at Meadow Lane to allow people to travel to the Bedford Town Football ground by rail for matches and boost their coffers and keep the number of cars down.

A train station (American English), or railway station (British English), is a point of call for trains, allowing the loading or unloading of goods, or allowing passengers to board and alight.
Various forms of architecture have been used in the construction of railway stations, from those boasting grand and intricate almost baroque-style edifices, to more stark utilitarian or modern styles.
