In the county, the population is spread out with 21.60% under the age of 18, 15.40% from 18 to 24, 25.20% from 25 to 44, 22.70% from 45 to 64, and 15.20% who are 65 years of age or older.

All the rest of the surface of the southern half of the county, that is south of the Clarion River, consists of the Productive coal measures; and these also make the hills of the other half except near the Forest county line, where the Conglomerate occupies the whole ground.
The Clarion coal bed, where its two benches are united, is 4' or even 6' thick, but the benches separate as much as 25', the upper bench gradually rising to touch the underside of the Ferriferous limestone.

Elijah Y. [Yingling] Slaughenhoupt served as a Postmaster at the West Freedom, Clarion County, Pennsylvania Post Office from February 4, 1869 (at the age of 30) until March 10, 1871 at the age of 32.
Both Elijah Y. [Yingling] and Isabella (Hagerty) Slaughenhoupt belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church and are buried in the Perryville Cemetery, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
It appears that in 1890 at the age of 20, Jessie A. Slaughenhoupt moved with her family from West Freedom to about six miles west to Perryville, Clarion County, Pennsylvania.63 Jessie A. Slaughenhoupt married Americus C. Fox who was born in 1866 and died in 1919 at the age of 53.

The abandoned part of the road has gone to grass.
However, the replacement plan is not listed in the 2003 Twelve Year Plan, so apparently the idea has been shelved.
