Clark County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the population to decrease by 0.6% from April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2004, to 16,906.
In the county the population was spread out with 24.90% under the age of 18, 7.40% from 18 to 24, 26.60% from 25 to 44, 23.10% from 45 to 64, and 18.00% who were 65 years of age or older.

I know that he was in Marion, Linn County, Iowa, on November 16, 1847, because I have a letter that he wrote to his son, Lawrence, Jr., who, at that time, resided in Clark County, Illinois.
Lawrenze was born in Athens, Greene County, N.Y., in 1780.
He migrated to the Illinois Territory in 1815, traveling from Onandago County, N.Y., overland to the Allegheny River, by boat down the river to the Ohio River, down the Ohio River to the Wabash River, and north up the Wabash to York.

Understandably, information concerning county soldiers who served in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 was relatively scarce after all the years.

County says the license was never returned (or maybe it's misfiled?) Two known children: Charles H., born 23 Aug 1862 in Madison Co, and Lena, born 31 Dec 1868 in Madison Co. I haven't found Louis in any census index.
Her last child, Eva, was born in Casey, Clark Co, IL on 12/25/1870.
She died in Carlock, Gregory County, SD and was buried at Newcastle, Nebraska.

This Pearce family of Chester County PA immigrated to Pennsylvania during the Scots-Irish invasion and was decidedly Protestant, although they lived among many Quakers and some Mennonites (a number of whom where named Pearce, Pierce or Peirce).
