On Friday, October 27, 2006, Clarke Road granted World War II veteran and flying ace Charley Fox an honorary High School diploma for his continuing contributions to our students.
These contributions continued as the former spitfire pilot donated an archive of his wartime memoirs to the school to bring a sense of reality about the war to students for years to come.
Although Fox never graduated from high school ("I got a job and then the war came along," he says.), his son, Jim, was one of Clarke Road's first graduates after the school opened 50 years ago.
