Computer science class will delve into science-fiction - News
Course creators Milind Tambe, an associate professor of computer science, and Emma Bowring, a third-year Ph.D. candidate, are currently working to adapt what would usually be a graduate-level coursework to an undergraduate intensity by focusing on the fundamentals.
Although there are a handful of classes at other schools that use science-fiction to help students learn about topics such as psychology and physics, neither Tambe nor Bowring has ever heard of such a course being taught in the computer science field.
Through this class and the literary examples it draws from, he hopes to share his passion for artificial intelligence with a new generation of students.

Ontology (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In both computer science and information science, an ontology is a data model that represents a domain and is used to reason about the objects in that domain and the relations between them.
Ontologies vary on whether classes can contain other classes, whether a class can belong to itself, whether there is a universal class (that is, a class containing everything), etc. Sometimes restrictions along these lines are made in order to avoid certain well-known paradoxes.
The classes of an ontology may be extensional or intensional in nature.
