		Blind Melon was an American rock and roll band from the 1990s.
		In 1995, Blind Melon also contributed the song "Out on the Tiles" to the Encomium tribute album to Led Zeppelin, as well as a promotional CD with a cover of the School House Rock song "Three is a Magic Number".
		Also, "Blind Melon Chitlin" was the name of a fictional bluesman appearing in a routine on the self-titled Cheech and Chong LP.

		Once the album was completed in the spring of 1995, Hoon checked himself into another rehab facility at the insistence of his bandmates, which pushed the release date of the album, titled Soup, to late summer.
		The dark and challenging Soup was a true diamond in the rough, but when it was finally released, the album was savagely bashed by fickle critics everywhere, which in turn led to a cool reception by the record-buying public (peaking at number 28 on the Billboard album charts).

		I bought the classic masters album today, a lot of people are criticising it saying that it hasnt got the right tracks on it for a greatest hits album, thats because its not a greatest hits album its a 24 bit remastered album and i think it sounds the bollocks.
		blind melon was the greatest band, and we are lucky to be able to enjoy their music still.
		Blind Melon has got to be the most creative,energizing,tear jerking, chill giving band I've heard.

		With only a pair of studio albums released during their brief and ultimately tragic career (in addition to a posthumously issued odds-and-ends collection), the appearance of a Blind Melon best of, 2002's Classic Masters, may understandably raise a few eyebrows.
		But the bottom line is that the quintet issued some truly great music during their short tenure together, and just about every selection from this 12-track overview is a gem.
		Just be prepared to quickly follow up that purchase with their three previous albums.

		My personal favorite on this album would have to be Mouthfull of Cavities but I can't really think of one song on this album that i don't like.
		Blind Melon's music is the only CD's that I have ever owned that I didn't skip even one track.
		If you are looking for just a little more Blind Melon, look on the SchoolHouse Rocks album, they did "Three is the Magic Number" which was beautiful.

		The album is done and avaliable to buy at their concerts, but that's currently the only way to get it.
		If former Blind Melon members Christopher Thorn (guitar) and Brad Smith (bass) wanted a low-key debut show for their new band Luma, then they certainly got it when the quartet played at Seattle's OK Hotel on Friday (Feb. 12) night.

		This album has some good hits, more off the older albums, but if you're looking for amazing Blind Melon I'd suggest going with their self-titled album, every song is amazing and it gives the listen such a greater appreciation for the band.
		The Best Of combines songs from all their albums, but too me there are a lot more songs, "Holyman", "Sleepyhouse", "Skinned", and a ton more I would have liked to seen on this disc.
		It's one of the most amazing albums, and you can't help but feel sad knowing that this album was released after the lead singer died.

		However, the death of Blind Melon's vocalist kept the release anonymous in its time.

		Sad to see how coked out Shannon Hoon was, but amazing to think that he had no recollection of making this album, considering how it came out.
		However, I found masterpieces that remained unnoticed during their time such as Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks" or Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde" only to be critically renowned thirty years or more later.
		The entire album is an emotional trip for anyone.
