Claudio Ranieri (born October 20, 1951 in Rome) is a former Italian football player and football manager.
Ranieri signed as a professional football player with A.S. Roma, though in his two seasons with the club he only managed to gain 6 performances; he also had a month loan spell with Syracuse.
Ranieri himself explained that it was difficult to mould so many new players into a team within a season and that he was 'satisfied' with his work for the season.
