 The Streets of Brisbane
In the year 1888 the respective railway passengers using these stations as expressed on a percentage basis, revealed that Lutwyche booked 64 per cent, Thorroldtown 2 per cent and Eagle Junction 34 per cent.
It was inevitable from the economic standpoint that the Thorroldtown Railway Station would have to be closed and by 1890 this was done, the Lutwyche station removed 300 yards northwards from Chalk Street to its present position and renamed Wooloowin.
Fortunate indeed, is the City of Brisbane that the pleasantly situated Botanical Gardens are still in their present spaciousness and available for visits by those who enjoy the beauties of plant and flower life as well as the peaceful quietude which raises the heart and refreshes the spirit.

 Down Under - DigsBoards
One thing that I would recommend doing in Brisbane is trying to live as close as you can to a railway station.
I have a friend who lives there, right near the train station and it's an easy commute from the city (2 or 3 stops) but still far enough out to be suburban with the back yard and carport that you are looking for.
And if you are planning to buy apparently Brisbane housing prices will be going through the roof in the next 12 months so it is a good time to nab a bargain (or so *everyone* keeps telling us).
