 Clearview Expressway (I-295)
Originally intended as a route between the Throgs Neck Bridge and Kennedy Airport as part of the abandoned I-78, the Clearview Expressway performs well as its function as an important truck link between Long Island and points north, because it is the first fixed link for Long Islanders that is available.
Finally, the Clearview Expressway is a good alternate route for cars to the always congested Cross Island Parkway, though you'll have to compete with trucks (particularly on the ramps between the Clearview and Long Island expressways).
The expressway traverses a mix of parkland, single-family homes and condominiums, but on the northbound lanes one is treated to a full view of the Throgs Neck Bridge.
