Bishop's Cleeve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bishop's Cleeve is a large village in the Local Authority District of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, near Cheltenham.
Bishop's Cleeve was once served by a railway line, a relative latecomer in British railway history, opened in the early 1900s by the Great Western Railway and running from Stratford-upon-Avon to Cheltenham, part of a main line from Birmingham to the South West and South Wales.
Bishop's Cleeve is bordered by the village of Woodmancote to the east, the former Great Western railway line dividing the two parishes.

Cleeve Hill is a total antidote to everything that represents the 'Americanisation' of golf and is a wonderful experience for it.
Generally speaking, there's enough room off the tee at Cleeve Hill to really give it a crash but go wayward and you'll often be left with longer approaches from awkward angles into tricky greens that are surrounded by the scope for very tricky chip shots.
Abiding memory is of one tee - to the south we saw the Severn bridge, to the west the Welsh mountains, to the north, the Malvern hills.

We parked in the area outside the transmitters on Cleeve Common, and took the short walk across to the highest point marked by a trig.
