The stranger was asked to join Cleopas and his friend for the evening meal, and there the stranger revealed himself, after blessing and breaking the bread, as the resurrected Jesus and disappeared.

James who wrote this Epistle (according to most ancient writers) is called (Gal 1:19), "the Lord's brother." He was son of Alpheus or Cleopas (Luk 24:13-18) and Mary, sister of the Virgin Mary.
Compare Mar 15:40, which seems to identify the mother of James the Less with the wife of Cleopas, not with the Virgin Mary, Cleopas' wife's sister.
Cleopas is the Hebrew, Alpheus the Greek mode of writing the same name.

We now find two other New Testament figures that are associated with this Cleopas or Alphaeus.  In the Gospel of John, we find Mary Cleophas, called Mary the wife of Cleopas and Mary the mother of James the Less and Joses, who is also called the sister of Mary the mother of Jesus.
We have already discussed the possibility that Simeon ben Cleopas was a son of Mary, but if the date of his death and his age at that time is true according to the testimony of Hegesippus, Simeon could not be the son of Cleopas and Mary the mother of Jesus.
If James the Just and Symeon were both sons of Mary through their fathers Joseph and Cleopas, they would legitimately have authentic Zadokian high priestly genetic lineage and would have been accepted by the Essenes and the Nazarenes to be the authentic high priests of the House of Israel.
