We do a lot of work in street clothes, that is the nature of the Diaconate, to work among the people, leading by example.
But when we are acting in a clerical role, for example, visiting the sick in a hospital, or shut-ins at home or nursing facilities, or Baptizing or presiding at a wake service, we should be instantly recognizable and therefore approachable to those we are serving.
Ministers of all denominations wear clerical clothes, they are not mistaken as priests.
