| | Clery Act |
 | | The Clery Act, originally enacted by the Congress and signed into law by President George Bush in 1990 as the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, was championed by Howard & Connie Clery after their daughter Jeanne was murdered at Lehigh University in 1986. |
 | | Because of this the Clery's have embarked on a crusade to make colleges and universities report crime statistics and to help students and prospective students be informed about crime and safety of these institutions. |
 | | In accordance with the Clery Act, faculty advisors, counselors, the Dean of Students, and resident deans are also required to report crimes. |
