Catholic Music Network: Album Detail - Surrender by Kitty Cleveland
The song "Surrender", which is the title track to an award-winning collection of inspirational music, was inspired by what Kitty Cleveland learned from her own grief and suffering when her father was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for RICO violations.
Though two counts did not involve constitutional issues, and therefore could not be presented for consideration on appeal, he opted to surrender his right to a new trial and to damages for wrongful prosecution when it became clear that the federal government would continue to seek a "win" if he did otherwise.
Two weeks after he came home, Kitty sang "Surrender" for her father for the first time as she debuted her CD on EWTN's "Life on the Rock".

Mott the Hoople : Shades of Ian Hunter: The Ballad of Ian Hunter & Mott the Hoople - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
The 1977 album Overnight Angels, Hunter's last for the label, barely registered in the U.S., and anybody experiencing, for the first time, the likes of "Justice of the Peace" and "Wild N' Free" must certainly have been wondering why -- both represented some of Hunter's most archetypal swaggering work in some years.
Even better was "England Rocks," a U.K.-only 45 which would ultimately evolve into one of Hunter's best-loved live standards, "Cleveland Rocks." Like several other vinyl-era Mott collections, Shades Of has today been utterly overshadowed by sundry CD collections -- its own CD counterpart was deleted in the early 1990s.

Damnation were the same Cleveland band previously known as the Damnation of Adam Blessing, who issued two albums on United Artists in 1969-70.
Basically, however, the group's third album (Which Is the Justice, Which Is the Thief?) was credited to Damnation, not the Damnation of Adam Blessing, though it makes sense to consider both the Damnation of Adam Blessing and Damnation the same act.
On their second album, 1970's The Second Damnation, they went into a more determinedly hard rock direction, still featuring the powerful, husky vocals of Blessing, and deploying vocal harmonies with more taste and subtlety than many similar outfits did.

 Cool Spins
Prick is actually the studio project of longtime Cleveland avant industrial-troublemaker Kevin McHahon, who was signed to Nothing Records just long enough to release his debut album Communiqué in '95, tour with David Bowie and NIN, and then disappear for the rest of the decade.
The album, moves swiftly from the new wave bliss of “Into My Arms” through to the sprawling, electronic dissonance of “Godfather” and “Object.” McHahon's processed croons provide a stream-of-concisousness narration that alternates between the cautious bravado of David Byrne and the confused whispers of a dying child.
And it speaks to the tone of Joey's work on this album, and throughout his career with the band: This gawky, sweet, hard-rocking recluse was punk's true optimist.
