HIMAL SOUTH ASIAN | September 2003 | Essay | A Resting Place for the Imagination?   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Hansen suggests (and I would agree) that turning their gaze to India is mainly a way of making sense of their present predicament in South Africa, where despite their long-term presence and the attempts of many to Indians to “keep their heads down”, they are still widely regarded as outsiders, and caricatured as “exploitative shopkeepers”.
The implication in Hansen’s article is that this claim to “diasporic identity” contradicts the true spirit of the term, which lies in the Jewish precedent, against which diasporic authenticity is to be measured.
Hansen suggests that for early indentured labourers there was a “…relative lack of any clear ‘disaporic commitment’ or identification with the ‘motherland’…”, and most of them did not want to ‘go home’.

During this period of time, the claimant was treated by Dr. Harold Hansen, who noted consistent symptoms of weakness in the right foot, muscular spasm and tightness in the lower back, and some numbness and sensory loss in the great toe and foot on the right.
Based on a combination of the claimant's limited range of motion and the diagnosed lesion in the claimant's spine, Dr. Hansen found that the claimant suffered a 24% permanent impairment of the spine and a 15% permanent impairment to his left leg.
Dr. Hansen's rating was based on the combination or added values of the two models, in essence giving the claimant twice the value of his permanency.

TR 2/2004: N. Jackson: Julius Evola's Political Testament
Hansen, in his 100-page introduction to this first English translation of Evola's work, explains that Men Among the Ruins was written in the hope of influencing Italian politics of the time, but was not successful in that regard.
Hansen's claim that "it probably was and has remained the only 'practical' handbook for a truly traditional right wing" may be an excessive claim.
Hansen points out that for Evola, from his mid-twenties onwards, the centre of all things was not man but rather the Transcendent, the eternal "One without a second." Evola was a Traditionalist in the sense made famous by Guénon, father of the "Perennialist" school.
