CLIFFORD JOY "DOC" ROGERS was born in Clarion, Ohio on December 20, 1897 and orphaned at the age of seven.
Rogers served in the military and then purchased a homestead in Campbell County.
Rogers served as Acting Governor from 1953-1955 and twice held the office of State Treasurer (1946-1950, 1958-1962).

Clifford's sister Geneva was a pretty distinguished opera singer in Indiana.
He was pitted against Clifford on the Hampton tour and he went out there every night, and Art told me he went crazy because he knew from the very get-go that Clifford was such a monster player and Art himself was a great jazz talent.
It's not an exhaustive one-there are many exhaustive discographies-but the essential Clifford Brown is contained in that annotated Clifford Brown bibliography, and of course it includes the four or five dates that he did with Max Roach and Harold Land, and Sonny Rollins later on.

In July and August of 1954, as Clifford Brown and Max Roach were launching their quintet, the great trumpeter did this Pacific Jazz septet session featuring Zoot Sims and Russ Freeman with arrangements by Jack Montrose.
Clifford Brown is an awesome trumpet player, no mattter who else is playing.
Clifford Brown sounds eerily like Shorty Rogers, and Zoot is but a pale imitation of what he was to become.

The mission of the Federal Judicial Extern Honors Program is to enhance judicial clerkship opportunities for Pace students and to increase the visibility of Pace Law School among the judges of the federal bench.
In providing the opportunity for students to be exposed to the federal judiciary and to work closely on their writing with a faculty mentor in an honors program, this program also offers marketing and retention benefits for the law school and the creation of future alumni leadership in the profession.
The externship portion of the Honors Program was an option for participants during the 1997-98 through 1999-2000 academic years; 24 students completed the mentored writing assignment during these years, at least seventeen of whom elected to extern with a federal judge.

Items from Anywhere: 25 June 1925-Last Sunday night after we had retired for the night and had fallen asleep, a knock at our door announced the presence of Garvin Ricketts and Miss Ferol Hosick, a handsome and worthy young couple arrived with a marriage license and declared their desire to bow before Hymen's Altar.
Mark Hosick was summoned from across the street to witness the ceremony, and after they were pronounced husband and wife, they left for the bride's home, their happiness and joy apparently being completely consummated by the marriage vow.

Lucy and Clifford moved to Alaska in 1952 and Cliff organized and was the first president of Operation Statehood, lobbying Congress to make Alaska the 49th state.
