She was buried in the Moravian Cemetery on Staten Island on 21 January 1908 in lot 90-D. The cause of her death was listed as gangrene of the right foot and leg, and septicaemia (blood poisoning) with a contributory cause of arterial sclerosis.
She was the founder and first president of the Staten Island Diet Kitchen, an institution that furnished food to the sick upon a physician's request.
He was buried in the Moravian Cemetery on Staten Island, on 1 November 1905 in lot 90-D. William Wallace MacFarland's parents were reported to be Andrew MacFarland and Edea Symonds (or Simons).
