Peter and Paul is the Roman Catholic cathedral in the English city of Bristol.
Located in the Clifton area of the city, it is the seat of the Diocese of Clifton and is known as Clifton Cathedral.
The Cathedral was consecrated in 1973, replacing a wooden-framed pro-Cathedral that had been built in the mid-19th century.

Alamed by a report in the paper suggesting that all was to be demolished (later retracted) I visited the cathedral on April 14th 2000, in order to photograph some of the details.

This has the advantage that you approach Clifton directly; it has the disadvantage that the Portway is often congested, and periodically a bit of it falls off into the Avon and the road has to be closed for a few weeks.
Clifton Suspension Bridge, which is just up the road from the church and the Cathedral, is a very ornamental bit of Victorian structural engineering and worth the walk.

Kathleen Keeley and Mary Hingston, both from Clifton, have been presented with Bene Merenti medals from the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.
The sisters were surprised, during Mass on 29 October in Clifton Cathedral, when Cathedral Dean, Canon Robert Corrigan, announced that their years of dedication and service to the Catholic Church in Bristol had been recognised by the Pope.

The wide-ranging musical talent of the boys of Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital was enjoyed at their annual public concert at Clifton Cathedral, Bristol last night.
Together with girls from The Red Maids’ School, who were also performing in part of the concert, the singers and instrumentalists from QEH presented a programme ranging from choral music to jazz favourites.
