Clinophobia is rarely discussed in depth in the mainstream media.
Too often, clinophobia is approached by clinicians as just another phobia and standard therapies are prescribed.
Although this is understandbale, the fact that clinophobia is, by its very nature, linked to the sleep process (where such treatments rapidly lose their effectiveness) explains why so many people simply do not get good results.

 Does Clinophobia Bother You?
While adults with clinophobia realize that these fears are irrational, they often find that facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety.
They have had their clinophobia so long that they don't know who they would be without it.
So people who really want to talk about their clinophobia because they are not really ready to let them go may not achieve optimal results.
