Late Thursday, Meldrum issued her own statement, commending the Clinton Police Department for "their prompt response in charging several adults who are suspected of vandalizing or stealing many of my signs in the Clinton area." She had 100 signs stolen last weekend and two large signs were destroyed.
Clinton Police responded to the gas station shortly after 2:30 am and made contact with the clerk, who was crying and shaking uncontrollably behind the counter.
