		CLIONIDAE d'Orbigny, 1851 (Porifera, Hadromerida): proposed emendment of spelling to CLIONAIDAE to remove homonymy with CLIONIDAE Rafinesque, 1815 (Mollusca, Pteropoda)
		The purpose of this application, under Articles 29 and 55.3.1 of the Code, is to remove homonymy between the family names CLIONIDAE Rafinesque, 1815 (Mollusca) and CLIONIDAE d'Orbigny, 1851 (Porifera) by changing the spelling of the junior homonym.
		Clione Pallas, 1774 and Clio Linnaeus, 1767 are respectively the type genera of CLIONIDAE Rafinesque, 1815 (Mollusca) and CLIOIDAE Jeffreys, 1869 (Mollusca).

		I agree with Willan et al.'s interpretation of ‘Clione R. Clio Brown’ and I agree that the type genus of the family name should be regarded to be Clione Rafinesque, 1815, not Clione Pallas, 1774.
		It is clear that, ever since Rafinesque (1815), there has been a continuous usage of a family name with the stem clio-, based on Clio or Clione, with authorship attributed to different authors, but consistently extended to designate gymnosomes and not thecosomes.
		This should be reflected by a ruling of the Commission that the type genus of CLIONIDAE Rafinesque, 1815, Clione, should be attributed to Pallas, 1774 and not to Rafinesque, 1815.

		This ability enables the sponge to utilise the reef as substrate.
		Within the Clionidae, Cliona annulifera and three species of the genus Pione are the only species known to produce typical gemmules.
		Possible reasons are: (1) reproduction of bioeroding sponges is understudied and asexual bodies may have been overlooked in other species, and (2) clionid gemmules are an adaptation to survive life in risky environments.

		And, as if I had to tell you this, they have three pairs of feeding structures known as buccal cones, which are normally retracted.
		These little dudes feed almost exclusively on the small thecosome pteropod, Limacina, which I'm sure you already knew, and they are in the Class Gastropoda / Subclass Opisthobranchia / Order Gymnosomata / Family Clionidae.
		Yeah, I barely have any idea what I just said, but damn, these little fellas are cute.
