Although Clive Barnes liked many aspects of the show, his luke-warm response could be read in the column’s title, "Juggling Shakespeare Into Error." He felt that while the production may bring Shakespeare to the masses who don’t like Shakespeare, it offered little to those who don’t like juggling (6/1/87).
Douglas Watt found fault with using the juggling troupe.
The most vocal dissenter was Douglas Watt of the Daily News.

Garth Porter is now established in Tamworth as a leading producer of country music.

Clive Brill and his cast show why THE WINTER'S TALE has such an impressive stage history in as fine a recording of Shakespeare as you're likely to encounter.
The Winter's Tale was one of the very last plays Shakespeare wrote, a moving romance whose themes are sin, forgiveness, death, rebirth, and the power of Time and Nature to heal all wounds.
At times tragic, at times humorous, but always entertaining and instructive, The Winters Tale is a complex and rewarding work by the greatest dramatist of all time.

As You Like It, a CurtainUp London review
As You Like It is one of Shakespeare's most captivating plays, and has here found a production worthy of its quality: at once funny and poignant, imaginative and sincere.
The themes of love, comedy and philosophical ruminations in exile are well brought out by intelligent direction, and the flourishes of innovation are integrated so that they feel in no way gimmicky.
This production has an immediate, albeit eclectic appeal: a distinctive, modish style, the superb Helen McCrory as Rosalind, the stand-up comedian Sean Hughes as the clown Touchstone, Clive Rowe as a singing duke and celebrity actress Sienna Miller as Celia in her professional stage debut.

 Shotgun Players
Shakespeare's plays tend to be organized into four categories: the comedies, the tragedies, the histories, and the problem plays.
Most of the humor in this play is mined by Reid Davis and Clive Worsley; the two redefine the word "ooze" in their portrayals of competing grotesques Pandarus and Thersites.
Rarely produced until the 20th century, the three haven't spun off as many imitators as Shakespeare's other works.

 Camino Real - Controversy
Currently playing at The Shakespeare Theatre, Michael Kahn’s production of Camino Real has furthered Camino Real ’s reputation as a poetic and controversial play, generating an entire range of audience and critical response.
Of the Lincoln Center’s revival of the play (starring Al Pacino as Kilroy) in 1970, New York Times critic Clive Barnes wrote: "There are people who think Camino Real is Tennessee Williams’s best work, and I believe that they are right."
Most recently, the flurry of Camino revivals—and the largely positive critical and popular response to these productions—indicate that Willams’s favorite work is, perhaps, finally clawing its way into the canon of great American plays.

 Sherbet - Nostalgia Central
Their years of success owed much to the smooth voice of Daryl Braithwaite and the song writing talents of Garth Porter and Clive Shakespeare (and later Tony Mitchell).
Braithwaite went on to record the platinum albums Edge (1988) and Rise (1990).
The songs lyrics may have been nonsensical but they had captured an appealing sound in the studio, and Daryl's voice showed a remarkable ability to move effortlessly in and out of falsetto.

 Creating 'bouncebackability'
As for creating buzz words, Clive goes on to say 'I know that Shakespeare regularly contrived words when there was no word available, but I'm not sure whether I condone the idea that new words like this should be coined on a regular basis.
The latest buzz word to hit the streets is 'bouncebackability' and Cambridge design company, CBA, has adopted the newly invented word in a marketing context to describe how design can effectively revitalise a company and rejuvenate their image, products or services.
A growing momentum has developed behind the campaign and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the word will, at some time in the future, be adopted into the English language.

The movie, based on a novel from the Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler, "Sahara" is pretty much an excuse for McConaughey (one of several executive producers) to flex his gym-toned assets and play tough on boats, trains and camels.
To watch this movie is to not only appreciate the majesty of Shakespeare's poetics but to engage in a profound, subtextual dialogue with bigotry.
The movie, which Briski directed with Ross Kauffman, is really about changing the perspectives of eight children in a hopeless world, and Briski's moral involvement in her subjects' lives.
