	Cloud (music) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In music a cloud is a sound mass consisting of statistical clouds of microsounds and characterized first by the set of elements used in the texture, secondly density, including rhythmic and pitch density (Roads 2001, p.15).
		Clouds may include ambiguity of rhythmic foreground and background or rhythmic hierarchy.
		Curtis Roads (ibid) suggests a taxonomy of cloud morphology based on atmospheric clouds: cumulus, stratocumulus, stratus, nimbostratus, and cirrus; as well as nebulae: dark or glowing, amorphus or ring-shaped, and constantly evolving.

		Cloud Music was a mixed media installation developed by David Behrman, Bob Diamond and Robert Watts during 1974-1979.
		Cloud Music was exhibited first at the Electric Gallery in Toronto (1974), then at the Experimental Television Center in Binghamton (1976), the San Francisco Art Institute (1977), the Whitney Museum (1979) and at the New Music America Festival in San Francisco (1981).
		Bob Diamond was able to produce a video system that could scan the clouds as they move by and produce a control voltage proportional to the brightness of the cloud at the scan point.
