  BBC - h2g2 - Cluedo - the Game
The game was named Cluedo, referring to the search for clues, and also as a play on the word Ludo - Latin for 'I play' and itself the title of a popular board game.
Not only are there more rooms than weapons and suspects (nine, as opposed to six and six) but the player also has to physically move his or her piece to the room before it can feature in a suggestion.
The Cluedo television series appeared in many countries in the early 1990s, with the same basic format - the obvious murder, and then whittling down the list of suspects, giving the viewer a fair chance of working out the mystery.

Although it was bought in 1995 by the UK publishing and media conglomerate Pearsons, the history of the Grundy organisation is predominantly Australian and its Australian operations remain the single biggest national contribution to its overall activities.
While its theme and mode of telling remained unambiguously Australian and the idiom and cultural feel of it were very local, its story of moral upheavals in the Catholic Church in the 1960s, set against the wider changes that were occurring, was recognisable enough in other places for it to gain wide acceptance internationally.

 Lumley, Joanna
Joanna Lumley's lengthy career in television has been marked chiefly by two components--her image as glamorous and refined, and the characters she has played in three popular series, which span three decades.
Her work over the years has been varied, encompassing theatre, film, and several major advertising campaigns, as well as television drama, comedy and regular celebrity appearances.
The show evidently seemed to be more concerned to promote Lumley's legs than her character's crime-fighting skills--not only did her costume consist of a skin-tight trouser suit and kinky high boots, but Purdey's prime weapon was her immobilising karate kick.

CLUEDO uses the format of the well known detective game with a host of well known British television faces enacting a scenario with a couple of contestants trying to guess who commited the murder in which part of the house.
There is a bit of a flaw in this however, a series is composed of six episodes with there being six suspects so if you`ve been watching the previous five episodes it will be somewhat obvious as to who the murderer will be in the final episode.
